Top Side Lacrosse is committed to and built around giving back to the communities in which we live and work. Outside of offering a year-round program that offers lacrosse instruction and events, we also raise & donate funds, offer club team scholarships and work closely with non-profit organizations to promote the game and allow EVERYONE the opportunity to learn and love this game!
For the past 3 years, Top Side Lacrosse has been heavily involved with two organizations to help raise money for breast cancer. Through the Avon Foundation and the Kay Yow Fund, we have helped to raise over $20,000 total over those 3 years. Each year, there are 250,000 new cases of breast cancer and we are proud to be a part of the fight to end this disease.
Harlem Lacrosse and Leadership (HLL) is a non-profit organization that builds leadership skills, academic achievement and social responsibility through lacrosse. The non-profit organization offers a safe, structured environment for children with special learning needs and behavioral challenges to develop into community leaders while also competing on the lacrosse field. HLL’s combination of lacrosse and academic advancement programs operate in four schools in New York City and one in Baltimore, serving approximately 200 boys and girls, ages 11 through 16. For the past 4 years, Top Side Lacrosse has closely worked with HLL through offering free winter clinics, summer camp scholarships and club team scholarships to their athletes. The Brooklyn Crescents Lacrosse Club is a fully volunteer run, 501(c)3 non-profit organization that strives to make lacrosse accessible in NYC, through a foundation built on beginner clinics for the spectrum of age groups (PreK - 12). They do this by introducing the great game of lacrosse to children picking up a stick for the first time, as well as providing quality instruction and competition for more advanced players, and instilling the core values of lacrosse: commitment, teamwork, integrity, passion, community pride. Top Side Lacrosse started working with the Crescents in 2014, offering playing opportunities and free clinics to their players. Learn more at http://brooklyncrescents.com.
